South Jordan Steps

Are you ready to get moving this summer?

Are you ready to get the kids off the couch?

Are you ready to the people at work moving?

Then South Jordan Steps is the answer!

 

Beginning May1, 2010, the Healthy South Jordan Coalition will be holding a monthly pedometer program.  Simply attach a pedometer to your hip and start tracking your steps!  You may use a pedometer that you already own or one Healthy South Jordan provides to you while supplies last.  We only have 150 of these, so get yours soon.  We expect these to go quickly.

Here's the nitty gritty. . .(official rules)

1.  Record your steps every day.  We are relying on your honesty here, so please don't disappoint us by making up numbers.

2.  Email your daily step counts no more than weekly, but at least by the 2nd day of the following month to kelly@oneforfitness.com.

3.  For every day that your pedometer reads that you took at least 10,000 steps (the CDC recommendation), your name will be entered into a drawing for a prize.

4.  The prizes will by drawn on the 5th day of each month.

5.  We will also have a team competition.  You must register your team by submitting the names and emails of everyone on your team to kelly@oneforfitness.com before the beginning of each month.  A team must consist of at least 2 people.

6.  Teams must submit everyone's weekly step counts as a team (one email per group please!) each week.  This will foster some competition.

7.  The team with the highest average daily step count will win a rotating trophy to proudly display in their home or place of business for the following month.

8.  Weekly walks in various South Jordan City parks will be held to help support you in your quest to get the necessary steps.  Anyone who signs in at the group walk will receive an additional entry into the drawing.  These walks are open to the whole family, so bring a healthy picnic and enjoy the summer evening.  Please keep an eye on your little ones.  These walks will be at your own pace and at your own risk, so please come prepared to walk safely and have fun.

9.  Team competitors will also be eligble for the monthly drawing.
